ISULAN, SULTAN KUDARAT — Gladly, the town Mayor of Shariff Aguak in Maguindanao accepted the resignation of the Vice Mayor, who happens to be his father.

Mayor Marop B. Ampatuan was happy to accept the resignation of his father, Vice Mayor Datu Akmad Mitra Ampatuan, who cited his health problem as the reason for leaving his post.

Mayor-son said that his father’s resignation will greatly help him as he is on medication and it will also help the family who has been worrying about his health.

The resignation of the Vice Mayor, Ampatuan said, is for the good of the majority saying his father cannot give more time to serve the public given his condition.

But some residents were demoralized because they witnessed how the vice mayor transformed their town and introduced development interventions and his no-nonsense fight against illegal drugs.

Hadji Datu Akmad B. Ampatuan, thanked his constituents and the leaders of the Moro Islamic Liberation Front (MILF) base commanders for maintaining peace along with the Armed Forces of the Philippines and the Philippine National Police.

The resigned vice mayor also thanked his son, the mayor for loving their town, as he kept the people united and worked towards the development of their communities.

On Monday, September 14, Mayor Ampatuan officiated the oath-taking of the new Vice Mayor Datu Amier S. Aguak. Newsline.ph
