DAVAO CITY – The city government announced on Monday the opening here of a hotel-type quarantine facility or Temporary Treatment and Monitoring Facility (TTMF) for patients who are asymptomatic or with mild symptoms of the Covid-19 and who do not want to be admitted in a government facility but can afford to pay the cost of the quarantine services.

Mayor Sara Duterte-Carpio announced in a broadcast over the Davao City Disaster Radio that they allowed the opening of the facility for patients who can afford to pay for quarantine services and do not want to be admitted in a government facility.

“It means that those patients nga dili gusto moadto didto sa atoang mga (who do not want to go to our) TTMF for whatever reason, naa silay option nga moadto ani nga facility and magbayad sila (they have an option to go to this facility and pay) for the quarantine,” Duterte said.

The TTMF has a capacity of 29 beds.  It offers a package inclusive of 10 days quarantine in a room with a toilet, complete with meals and medical staff to monitor the patient.

“The reason why naa tay paid TTMF is because daghan na ta og na-encounter na mga pasyente nga magpili. So karon na naa tay paid nga TTMF or facility kung gi-assign ka sa doctor as mild or asymptomatic nga patient unya dili ka gusto moadto sa atoang mga TTMF, then they can opt for the hotel and pay (The reason why we have a paid TTMF because we have many encounters with patients who are choosy. So we now already have a TTMF or facility if you are assigned by the doctor as a mild or asymptomatic patient and then you do not want to go to our TTMF, then they can opt for the hotel and pay),” Duterte said.

According to the City Information Office, the isolation facilities of the city government for probable and suspect cases, along with the temporary treatment and monitoring facilities for Covid-19 positive cases have a total  2,194-bed capacity as of Dec. 29.  They are a mixed set-up of a hotel, public schools, gyms, and other facilities converted to isolation areas. – Newsline.ph
