CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY – The incumbent officials of the Mindanao-based Bachelor Express Inc. (BEI) have been re-elected during the company’s annual stockholders’ meeting held on Sunday, January 17.
BEI is a subsidiary of the Yanson Group of Bus Companies (YGBC), considered the largest bus conglomerate with operations all over the country.
YGBC has three subsidiaries operating in Mindanao, including BEI, MSBTI, and Rural Transit Mindanao Inc. (RTMI). RTMI is expected to hold its yearly stockholders’ meeting in February.
BEI has re-elected Olivia Yanson, Leo Rey Yanson, Ginnette Dumancas, Charles Dumancas, Rey Ardo, Arvin John Villaruel, Anita Chua, Daniel Nicolas Golez, Hernan Omecillo, Danny Lorenton, and Alfredo Ligo Jr. as the company’s board of directors.
The board then re-appointed the younger Yanson as chairman of the board and BEI president, while his mother Olivia has retained her position as the firm’s corporate secretary and treasurer.
Absent during the BEI meeting were the other Yanson siblings Roy, Ricardo, and Ma. Lourdes Celina Lopez.
They are said to be in hiding as fugitives from with their sister Emily Yanson, and are facing carnapping and grave coercion charges.
The siblings are known within the YGBC community as the “Y4,” who were involved in a legal battle with Leo Rey and Olivia over the family business leadership.
Just recently, warrants of arrest have also been issued against Emily for perjury and falsification of Vallacar Transit Inc.’s (VTI) General Information Sheets, which are being used by Y4 to claim their majority ownership of VTI, another YGBC subsidiary operating in some parts of Visayas.
The Chairman and President, Leo Rey V. Yanson confirms that despite the challenges faced in 2020, BEI remains strong and resilient. It continues to be steadfast in its goal to serve the Filipino people. BEI remains committed to providing the riding public with the most reliable means of public transportation for all.
