‘Tabak’ division boosts front-line security, activates CAA company

ZAMBOANGA CITY – The Philippine Army’s 1st Infantry “Tabak” Division (ID) has boosted its front-line with the activation of the 7th Zamboanga del Sur Cafgu Active Auxiliary (CAA) Company-II.  

The CAA company was activated after 153 CAAs graduated Thursday from a 45-day rigid Basic Military Training at the 1st Division Training School (1DTS) in Camp Maj. Cesar Sang-an that houses the 1ID headquarters in Labangan, Zamboanga del Sur.

The 153 Cafgu Active Auxiliary (CAA) graduates composed of 150 males and three females. Jhun Mark Malanog graduated as top of the class, while Nur-Hussein Bongga as top two and Nerto Ata as top three.

Maj. Gen. Generoso Ponio, 1ID commander, has reminded the CAAs how serious their endeavors are and urged them to focus in performing their duties especially during military operations.

“As member of the Civilian Volunteers and support troops, the people look up to you as a soldiers with virtues of honor, patriotism and duty,” Ponio told the CAA graduates.

He further reminded them to always be ready to fight, serve and secure the front-line as well as the constituents.

Zamboanga del Sur 1st District Rep. Divina Grace Yu congratulated the CAA graduates and expressed her appreciations to the troops for the commitment and sacrifices to the country.

“You have our utmost trust and confidence. You are being prepared to survive at any combat because your life is always at stake. We owe you the hard work to sacrifice and maintain the peace and order in our province,” Yu said. 

The CAAs serve as stationary security forces in areas vacated by soldiers brought about by rotation of personnel. – Nikolai Gonzalo
