ZAMBOANGA CITY – A top local health official announced that the inoculation of the A2 and A3 priority groups is smoothly ongoing with no reported adverse effect after immunization for coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19).
The A2 priority groups are the senior citizens and A3 are persons with comorbidities aged 18 to 59 years old. The immunization of these two groups started last week.
Dr. Dule Amor Miravite, city health officer, said 1,831 senior citizens and 491 persons with comorbidities have already received their first doses of Covid-19 vaccinations.
Miravite said that they are among the 47,358 individuals who have already signed up for inoculation.
Miravite added that 23,300 of the 47,358 registered individuals for inoculation belong to the A2 priority group, 17,055 are under A3 category and the remaining 7,003 fall under A4.
She said that the A4 category are front-line personnel in essential sectors, including uniformed personnel—police, military, and coast guard.
Meanwhile, she said that registration for the A2 to A4 priority groups and the rest of the population are ongoing in different barangay health centers or through www.zambocovax.com, the online vaccination registration program of her office. – Nikolai Gonzalo
