Task Force Davao has new commander

DAVAO CITY – The Army’s Task Force Davao has a new commander in the person of Col. Darren Comia.

Comia used to be the chief of staff of the Armed Forces of the Philippines’ Civil Relations Service.

After Col. Consolito Yecla was promoted to a new position at his new assignment, this transpired. Col. Yecla accepted a position and was named commander of the Army’s 1003rd Infantry Brigade in Davao del Norte on July 8.

Yecla, a member of the Philippine Military Academy Class 1992, takes over the command of Brig. Gen. Nolasco Mempin, will be the new assistant commander of the Army’s 10th Infantry Division.

Yecla said, “There was never a second that I did not think of the welfare and security of the Davaoeños.

Yecla was the longest serving commander of the 18-year old Task Force Davao.-ezc
