Social Services XI highlights year 2022 with social pension payout

DAVAO CITY — The Department of Social Welfare and Development Field Office XI, through the Social Pension for Indigent Senior Citizens (SocPen) program, fully utilized and concluded the 4-quarter payout for 2022 as it ended its last payout in Davao City last November 25, 2022.

An amount of Php 33,042,000.00 was given to 22,028 beneficiaries in Davao Occidental,  Php 69,298,500.00 to 46,199 beneficiaries in Davao Oriental, Php 79,003,500.00 to 52,669 beneficiaries in Davao de Oro, Php 62,472,000.00 to 41,648 beneficiaries in Davao del Sur, Php 84,831,000.00 to 56,554 beneficiaries in Davao del Norte, and Php 98,403,000.00 to 65,602 beneficiaries in Davao City. A total of Php 427,050,000.00 was distributed among 284,700 recipients of the Social Pension program in Davao Region.

The head of the SocPen Unit, Ms. Maria Victoria N. Arancon said, “We are very grateful for the assistance and cooperation from the Local Government Units (LGUs) who augmented us during the payout, as well as the officials from the Office for Senior Citizens Affairs (OSCA) of their respective barangays.”

The office is encouraging its beneficiaries to reach out with their LGUs for further concerns and queries.

The Social Pension Program for Indigent Senior Citizens aims to help the beneficiaries for their needs amounting to Php 1,500 (quarterly) or Php 500 as their monthly stipend, which is enacted under Republic Act 9994 or the Expanded Senior Citizens Act of 2010.
