GIDA communities receive Php102.7 million development fund

DAVAO CITY — Thirty six (36) barangays in the province of North Cotabato received a total of P102.7 million fund representing the barangay Development fund which was chanelled through the Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) and will be implkemented with the supervision of the Philippine Army in their respective areas of responsibility.

The latest to receive the financial assistance worth P100-million are the 25 barangays from the town of President Roxas, the fund they received last December 21 will be utilized for the road concreting projects, infrastructures and livelihood programs.

The program is in furtherance of the DILG and Task Force ELCAC’s Barangay Development Program (BDP) by addressing the development concerns of communitties particularly of those once considered as Communist Terrorist Group affected barangays.

Several barangays of President Roxas in the Province of Cotabato were once affected by the existence of the communist groupd but were recently   declared as cleared after the military’s implementation of community based Community Support Program in the said barangays.

Earlier on, nine Peoples Organization who’s members are former member of the underground mass organizations in the said barangays recieved PhP 2.7M pesos from DSWD’s Sustainable Livelihood Assistance Program on December 7, 2022 as a starter kit in their livelihood program.
