Cotabato City schools division tops 1st Bangsamoro quiz bowl

COTABATO CITY – The Cotabato City Schools Division Office (SDO) won the first ever Bangsamoro Quiz Bowl held at the Cotabato City People’s Palace on Jan. 24.

According to a statement posted on the Facebook Page of the Ministry of Basic, Higher and Technical Education (MBHTE) of the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM), the winning  SDO that received a cash prize of Php 50,000.00 was represented by Shannarayne Camino Ampatuan, Aieesha Ameena Shanique M. Sajili, Durriyah M. Abdulnasser and Khristine Grace L. Mucosa, who came from the Cotabato City National High School – Main Campus.

The First Bangsamoro Quiz Bowl was part of the education-related activities conducted by the MBHTE in line with the week-long celebration of the 4th Bangsamoro Foundation Day that kicked off on Jan. 21.

Awarded with P40,000 cash was Lanao del Sur II Division for winning the first runner-up. It was represented Abol Caiz A. Pagrangan, Juhanah A. Casim, Noralia A. Tahir and Ebtizam U. Macadatar.

Marawi City Division won the second runner-up and received P30,000 cash prize.  Its representatives were Yasrinah U. H. Aiman, Nabila S. Maamor, Johanisah H. C. Maruhom and Rahmanyza P. Sultan.

The fourth runner-up, who received Php 20,000, was Sulu Division

Meanwhile, represented by Safeeya A. Mala, Denrajeev H. Jondam, Alyasin Amer Hadjiisah and Sasiuno A. Maang,  Sulu Division got the fourth runner-up and received P20,000 cash prize.

Minister Mohagher Iqbal of MBHTE congratulated the participants even as he underscored that “failure is really part of one’s success.”

In encouraging the participants to pursue education, Iqbal said, “people’s live are better when they are educated.”  Newsline.ph
