TAGUM CITY – In an ongoing effort to assist local farmers in their livelihoods and boost production, the local government of Tagum City in Davao del Norte is providing continuous support. Recently, agricultural inputs were distributed to beneficiaries, aiming to enhance their farming capabilities and yield.

Four rice farmers associations in Tagum City were the recipients of sacks of fertilizer, pesticides, and vegetable seeds. The provision of these agricultural inputs is part of the city’s commitment to promote sustainable farming practices and increase agricultural productivity. By equipping farmers with essential resources, the local government hopes to create a conducive environment for their success and contribute to the growth of the agricultural sector.

The initiative is backed by the City Agriculture Office, which implements the Rice Production Support Program.

This program plays a vital role in improving the quality and quantity of rice production in the city. Through targeted interventions and support systems, it aims to enhance the competitiveness and profitability of rice farming in Tagum City.

The allocation of funds by the local government to support the agriculture sector underscores their commitment to the welfare and progress of local farmers. By investing in agricultural development and providing necessary resources, Tagum City aims to create a sustainable and thriving farming community.
