DAVAO CITY — The DDB Philippines, the ad agency figured in the controversial “Love the  Philippines” promotional video lost another P124.45 million contract with the Department of Tourism (DOT) as the later rescinds the contract.

This was revealed by Tourism Secretary Christina Frasco on Tuesday when OFW party-list Rep. Marissa del Mar Magsino brought up the issue during the deliberation of DOT’s 2024 proposed budget before the House Committee on Approriations.

Based on the document which Magsino presented, the DDB  was to provide counseling services for the promotion of Philippine islands, award-winning destinations, and tourism products, which was supposed to end on Aug. 31, 2023.

But Frasco  explained “The contract concerning the video has since been terminated,” Frasco told the House Committee on Appropriations.

Magsino also found another P12.99 million contract between DDB Philippines and the Tourism Promotion Board (TPB), an attached agency of the department, for consulting services for the conceptualization and development of meetings, incentive travel, conventions and exhibitions.

Again, Frasco said the contract has been suspended.

The “Love the Philippines” promotion video which DDB Philippines produced resulted to an uproar after the public found out that the ad agency used stock photo in the presentation.
