DPWH employee shot dead in Cotabato province

MIDSAYAP, North Cotabato – An employee of the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) of North Cotabato 1st Engineering District was killed in a broad daylight on Tuesday along the national highway in Midsayap town, Cotabato province.

Lt. Col. John Miredel Calinga, municipal police chief, identified the victim as Jerry Largo Jr., an employee of DPWH-Midsayap and resident of Barangay Cabayuran, Libungan, North Cotabato.

Police report showed that around 7:15 this morning, clad in his office uniform, Largo was on his way to the office driving his motorbike along the highway of barangay Villarica when a motorbike behind him with two armed men fired to the victim hitting his chest and abdomen causing his instatenous death.

Midsayap police pursued the suspects but still no update as of presstime.

Police authorities are still investigating the circumstances behind Largo’s death to identify the culprits.
