DAVAO CITY — Grade two learners in a remote classroom of Josue Alcasid Central High School in Barangay Baras, Tacurong City in Sultan Kudarat surprised their teacher with a chick and a chicken on Tuesday, October 3, a day before this year’s teacher day celebration.

Teacher Anna Katrina Niro told Newsline, she was teary-eyed when her pupil Razed gave her a chicken while another learner Jonito gave her a chick.

“Salamat sa akong mga studyante nga nag effort para mihatag nako ang mga gulay og manok,  ako silang giingnan nga dili na lang mopalit sa naa lang sa balay, pero kung ihatag nimo, ako nalang dad-on,” Niro stated.

(Thank you to my students who exerted effort to give me vegetables, chicken, I told them not to buy anything but instead items which can be found in their houses, but since they gave it to me, I will bring it home).

The teacher thanked the parents who greeted her on teacher’s day.
