DAVAO CITY — The City Tourism office on Tuesday announced the resumption of Davao-Hong Kong-Davao direct flight starting Sunday, October 8 while the Davao-Xinjiang will start on October 29.

Davao City Tourism Operations Office (CTOO) Officer-in-Charge Jennifer Romero in a report published by the City Government said, the flights will be scheduled twice a week with the Davao-Hong Kong flight set on Thursdays and Sundays and the Davao-Jinjiang on Wednesdays and Sundays.

The resumption of direct international flights, Romero said, will help the tourism industry of the city to recover this post pandemic season as tourism activities were put on hold due to the health problems.

The tourism office is exploring the posibility that inbound and outbound flights from China will be strengthened by inviting local traverlers to use the Davao route.

Last year, the Davao-Singapore direct flight resumed with Scoot as parent company Singapore Airlines.

The fourth international direct flight resumed early this year with the Davao-Doha route which is carried by Qatar Airways.

The tourism office is working for more international flights from Davao City.
