Woman with disabilities attacked Zamboanga City

ZAMBOANGA CITY – Evelyn Andales Empirados, a 35-year-old woman without arms and legs, became the victim of a brutal attack in the vicinity of Sitio Pook, Barangay Cabaluay, in the city of Zamboanga City.

The perpetrator, identified as Simplicio Dahili, a 47-year-old native of Payao, Zamboanga Sibugay, was apprehended with the help of vigilant witnesses.

According to the investigation conducted by Zamboanga City Police Station 3, the incident occurred at around 1:30 PM on Tuesday, October 10. The suspect was spotted carrying a machete and appeared to be acting erratically.

He aimlessly roamed around the area outside a bakery, catching the attention of bystanders. Suddenly, he entered the bakery, grabbed the victim by her hair, and forcibly dragged her outside, where he brutally attacked her.

The injured woman was immediately rushed to the Central Sanitarium General Hospital for urgent medical care.

The suspect was promptly arrested by officers from Zamboanga City Police Station 3 and was also treated for injuries sustained during the altercation. The machete used in the attack was recovered.

The motive behind this incident is still under investigation.
