DAVAO CITY — Thousands of residents from the different provinces in Davao Region and neighboring municipalities were evacuated to safer grounds while transport from Davao City to the province of Davao del Norte particularly the Carmen town to Tagum City road was rendered impassable since Friday,

The water from Agusan River went downstream to Davao de Oro and to Davao del Norte.

The weather condition affected Davao Oriental, Davao de oro, Davao del Norte ang some areas in Davao City especially those residing along the shorelines, near river beds and low-lying areas.

The Davao de Oro provincial government posted this photo showing the extent of flood water.

As of this posting only heavy trucks and the rescue vehicles are allowed as the flood water has yet to fully subside.

The weather condition has rendered major highways impassable as landslides and floods occupied the national highway.

The stranded passengers and motorists from Tagum City to Tuganay in Carmen and vice versa were ferried through a pay loader and rescue vehicles from the provincial government of Davao del Norte from Guadalupe-Tagum City side to Tuganay in Carmen.

The inclement weather condition affecting Davao region and the rest of Mindanao caused the massive flooding.

In Davao City residents of Juliville were evacuated to the higher ground as the flood water rose up to the roofs.

Relief operations in many areas are ongoing.
