DAVAO CITY –— The Commission on Elections (Comelec) recorded 4.2 million individuals delisted from the poll body.

The huge number of delisted voters prompted Comelec to encouraged the voters to visit their office to reactive their status so they can participate in the upcoming 2024 midterm elections.

Comelec chairman George Garcia, delisted voters who wish to have their registrations reactivated may go to the different voter registration sites nationwide to apply for reactivation.

Meron po tayong ongoing registration, puwede po sila magpa-reactivate (Registrations are ongoing and they can apply for reactivation),” he said in a radio interview.

On Thursday, the Comelec reported that it has removed about 4.2 million names from its official list of voters.

Among the reasons for the delisting were failure to vote in two successive preceding regular elections, by court order, loss of Filipino citizenship, and having non-valid documents.

The Office of Election Officer in the city or municipality is open from Monday to Saturday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

The nationwide voter registration ends on Sept. 30, 2024.

The poll body is expecting more than 3 million new voters for the May 2025 midterm polls.
