DAVAO CITY –— Police authorities recovered a grenade from the hands of a 14-year-old boy who was playing it.

A report from Bansalan municipal police station in Davao del Sur revealed that the child was playing with the “high Explosive Incomplete Assembly MK2 Hand Grenade” in their house in Purok Rambutan, Barangay Kinuskusan, around 1:30 in the afternoon on Sunday, May 19.

A police report showed that the child was not aware that the item he was playing with was a dangerous explosive.

It was not learned, however, where the child got the grenade.

The grenade is now in the custody of the Provincial Explosive and Canine Unit in Davao Del Sur.
