Dul-an 600 ka mga piniriso ang gipagawas niadtong Hunyo-BuCor

DAKBAYAN SA DAVAO, Pilipinas — mokabat sa 562 ka persons deprived of liberty (PDLs) ang gipagawas sa Bureau of Corrections (BuCor) kaniadtong Hunyo, gipahibalo sa ahensya kaniadtong Biyernes, Hulyo 5.

Sumala sa BuCor, mokabat na sa 14,657 ang nakagawas sukad niadtong Hunyo 2022 hangtod Hunyo 2024.

Si Corrections Director General Gregorio Catapang Jr. bagbutyag nga sa 562 ka mga PDL, 321 ang nagsilbi sa ilang labing taas nga sentensiya, 121 ang naabsuwelto, 98 ang na-parole, 21 ang nahatagan og probation, samtang ang usa nahatagan og executive clemency.

Samtang, si Catapang miingon nga ang ahensya nagpadayon sa ilang mga programa aron mapausbaw ang kalidad sa kinabuhi sa mga PDL nga natanggong pa pinaagi sa mga bag-ong pasilidad ug ang rehabilitasyon sa mga prisohan ug mga penal farm sa tibuok nasod.

Matod niya nga gipalapdan usab sa BuCor ang e-Dalaw system, nga nagtugot sa mga PDL nga makigkomunikar sa ilang mga pamilya ug mga minahal sa kinabuhi pinaagi sa mga tawag ug chat.

Sa kapin sa 14,000 ka gipagawas nga PDL, ang BuCor nagkanayon nga 8,129 ang nagsilbi sa ilang maximum sentence, 3,592 ang nahatagan og parole, 2,468 ang naabsuwelto, 356 ang probation, 52 ang gihatagan og executive clemency pinaagi sa pag-commutation sa sentensya, ug pito ang gihatagan og executive clemency pinaagi sa conditional pardon.

 Sa laing bahin, 35 ang nakagawas sa cash ug bail bond, pito ang nakagawas sa habeas corpus, ug 21 ang nakagawas tungod sa ubang paagi.
