Switching power interruptions on September 22, 23, and 25 in Davao City and Davao del Norte

DAVAO CITY —- Davao Light and Power Co., Inc. (Davao Light) will conduct a series of switching power interruptions on September 22, 23, and 25, Sunday, Monday and Wednesday affecting customers in different parts of Davao City and Davao del Norte.

To avoid a longer power interruption, the loads from the affected lines will be transferred to a nearby substation for 1 hour and 30 minutes anytime between 12:00 a.m. to 2:00 a.m. on Sunday, September 22. Meanwhile, the normalization or return of loads to their normal set-up will be for another 1 hour and 30 minutes anytime between 12:00 a.m. to 2:00 a.m. on Monday, September 23. These are necessary to facilitate the 69kV line maintenance works at NGCP Toril.

Specifically affected are those from the entire Ulas, Mintal up to Bambu Estates, Talomo, Puan, Bago Gallera, Bago Aplaya, Libby Road, Dumoy, Mulig, Bato, Bayabas, Marapangi, Toril, Lizada and immediate environs. Also included are parts of Diversion road going to Skyline, and Catalunan Grande, including the Davao City Water District Talomo Sump 1 and 2 Reservoirs.

Another normalization activity will be conducted for 1 hour from 8:00 a.m. to 9:00 a.m. on Sunday, September 22, for the same purpose. This will affect customers from Jollibee Ulas to PLDT Bangkal Office, Mintal crossing Ulas to Bambu Estates, parts of Diversion road going to Skyline, and Catalunan Grande, including the Davao City Water District – Talomo Sump 1 and 2 Reservoirs.

Meanwhile, the second set of switching power interruptions is necessary to facilitate substation works at R. Castillo Substation. Loads from the affected lines will be transferred to a nearby substation for 30 minutes anytime between 5:00 a.m. to 6:00 a.m. on Sunday, September 22. Customers affected are those from the entire R. Castillo and Agdao areas up to Leon Garcia Street, portion of Lanang from Pampanga Substation, Hizon Elementary School, Pampanga Executive Homes, Nova Tierra, Fortune Homes, and Insular Village. Meanwhile, the normalization will be for another 30 minutes anytime between 5:00 a.m. to 6:00 a.m. on Monday, September 23. Customers from the entire R. Castillo and Agdao areas up to Leon Garcia Street will be affected by this service disruption.

Lastly, another set of switching power interruptions will be conducted on Wednesday, September 25 affecting customers in Davao del Norte. To avoid a longer power interruption, the loads from the affected lines will be transferred to a nearby substation for 30 minutes anytime between 12:00 a.m. to 1:00 a.m. on Wednesday, September 25. Meanwhile, the normalization or return of loads to their normal set-up will be for another 30 minutes anytime between 4:00 a.m. to 5:00 a.m. on the same day. These are necessary to facilitate the 69kV line tapping at Gredu Substation.

Specifically affected by these power outages are customers from the entire Tadeco area from Nanyo, New Malitbog, Manay, Libertad, San Miguel, Magsaysay, Dapecol going to Alejal, including Biopulp, and the entire Sto. Tomas areas going to Katipunan and Luna.

Davao Light apologizes for the inconvenience brought about by these scheduled power interruptions. But it will exert all efforts to restore electric service as scheduled or earlier. However, there may be instances where restoration may extend beyond the schedule due to unavoidable circumstances.

Safety is of paramount importance to the company and Davao Light reminds the public to always take extra precautions when passing by activity area/s where line repairs and maintenance are being done. Please heed and follow warning signs, especially in areas where personnel operate heavy equipment.
