DAVAO CITY – The 4th Infantry (Diamond) Division (4ID) of the Philippine Army outlined its accomplishments in bolstering peace and security in Northern Mindanao during the 4th Quarter Regional Law Enforcement Coordinating Committee (RLECC)-10 meeting, held on December 27, 2024, at the Multi-Purpose Hall, Camp Alagar, Lapasan.

Lt. Col. Manuel B. Estanilla, Assistant Chief of Staff for Civil-Military Operations (OG7), presented the 4ID’s achievements under the Regional Task Force to End Local Communist Armed Conflict (RTF-ELCAC), showcasing efforts to combat insurgency, disrupt illegal activities, and foster socio-economic development in conflict-affected communities.

The division reported significant progress in dismantling local insurgent groups and improving regional security through enhanced collaboration among the military, police, local governments, and other stakeholders. The achievements included successful peace initiatives and humanitarian projects that contributed to stabilizing formerly conflict-affected areas.

Major General Jose Maria R. Cuerpo II, 4ID Commander, credited the “whole-of-nation approach” for the successes, emphasizing that the coordinated efforts of government agencies, local leaders, and communities were crucial in addressing the root causes of insurgency.

“Our fight against insurgency is a shared responsibility. The 4ID remains dedicated to supporting the government’s goal of creating safer and more prosperous communities in Northern Mindanao through strengthened partnerships and sustained efforts,” said Major General Cuerpo II.

The meeting was attended by government officials, law enforcement agencies, local leaders, and key stakeholders, highlighting the importance of joint efforts in advancing peace and development in the region.

The 4ID’s participation in the RLECC-10 meeting underscores its role in addressing security challenges and reinforcing its commitment to ensuring lasting peace and development in Northern Mindanao.
