DAVAO CITY – The Philippine Postal Corporation (PHLPost) is preparing to launch new Express Mail Service (EMS) delivery hubs in the National Capital Region (NCR) to enhance both domestic and international EMS operations beginning January 13.

According to a recent press release, the additional hubs will be located at the central post offices of Manila, Quezon City, and Makati City. Currently, most express mail items within the NCR are handled by the Central Mail Exchange Center (CMEC) in Pasay City.

Personnel, including EMS delivery staff, drivers, and couriers, will be relocated from CMEC to these new hubs, where operations under the updated system will commence.

Establishing these hubs aims to provide customers with improved accessibility, convenience, and cost-efficiency in EMS transactions.

Customers are advised that undelivered items will now be held for seven days, offering ample time for redelivery requests or item collection, thus alleviating the need to visit CMEC in Pasay City. The EMS next-day delivery service is designed to optimize service specifically in Metro Manila, representing a significant portion of PHLPost’s delivery volume.

Domestic Express Mail sent from post offices in Metro Manila after the cut-off time will be delivered within 48 hours.

The cut-off time is set at 2 p.m. for post offices in Caloocan, Valenzuela, Marikina, Novaliches, Pasig, Pateros, Taguig, Mandaluyong, San Juan, SM Mall of Asia, and SM Manila. Meanwhile, the cut-off time for Manila, Makati, Quezon City, Pasay, Parañaque, Muntinlupa, and Las Piñas is 3:30 p.m.
