DAVAO CITY – A total of 50 unserviceable firearms were turned over to authorities as part of ongoing efforts to regulate undocumented weapons in the city.

Davao City Police Director Colonel Hansel Marantan said the surrendered firearms, which include 19 shotguns, 26 .38 caliber revolvers, one .45 caliber pistol, one 9mm pistol, one .22 caliber firearm, and two Sam Trooper pistols, were handed over by the General Services Office (GSO) of Davao City Hall to the San Pedro Police Station 2 on February 5, 2025.

The turnover was conducted under the Oplan Katok/Tapik initiative, a component of the Simultaneous Anti-Criminality and Law Enforcement Operation (SACLEO). The program seeks to identify gun owners with expired or unrenewed firearm licenses and encourage them to either legalize their firearms or surrender them to the police for safekeeping.

Authorities continue to urge individuals with unregistered or expired firearms to comply with licensing requirements or voluntarily surrender their weapons to ensure public safety.
