DAVAO CITY –– A U.S. Department of Defense-contracted aircraft crashed in Maguindanao del Sur, Philippines, while conducting a routine intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance (ISR) mission in coordination with Philippine security forces.
The aircraft was providing ISR support at the request of the Philippine government as part of ongoing U.S.-Philippine security cooperation activities.
We regret to confirm that there were no survivors among the four personnel on board, which included One U.S. military service member and three defense contractors.
The names of the crew members are being withheld until their next of kin have been notified.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation, and we currently have no additional details to release. Further updates will be provided as they become available.
