Switching power interruptions on March 16 in Davao City and Carmen, Davao del Norte

Davao Light and Power Co., Inc. (Davao Light) will conduct switching power interruptions on Sunday, March 16, 2025, affecting customers in Davao City and the Municipality of Carmen, Davao del Norte.

To avoid a longer power interruption, the loads from the affected lines will be transferred to a nearby substation for 45 minutes anytime between 12:00 a.m. to 1:00 a.m.. Specifically affected are those along Maa Road, from Las Terrazas to Diversion Road along Bean Xpress, including NHA Maa, Del Pilar Village, New Washington Village, Roldan Village, Woodridge Park and nearby areas. Also affected are those along Diversion Road to Jade Valley, Juliville to Tigatto, Mandug, Callawa, Indangan, and neighboring areas.

Meanwhile, loads will be normalized or returned to their normal set-up for 45 minutes anytime between 8:00 a.m. and 9:00 a.m. Specifically affected are those from Diversion Road to Jade Valley, Juliville to Tigatto, Mandug, Callawa, Indangan, and neighboring areas, and those along Maa Road from Las Terrazas to Christian Colleges of Southeast Asia.

An 8-hour power interruption will be conducted from 12:00 a.m. to 8:00 a.m. affecting customers along Maa Road from Christian Colleges to Maa intersection and along Diversion Road from Maa-Phoenix to Kobuta.

These scheduled power interruptions are necessary to facilitate steel pole erection and removal along the Maa Flyover Project.

Lastly, a 4-hour power interruption will be conducted anytime between 8:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. to facilitate line works at Gredu Substation. Specifically affected are those from Sto.Nino Elementary School in Sto.Nino, Carmen to Guadalupe, parts of Sto. Nino, Ising, Tuganay, Anibongan, San Isidro, Guadalupe, Mabaus and parts of Taba in the Municipality of Carmen.

Davao Light apologizes for the inconvenience caused by these scheduled power interruptions but it will exert all efforts to restore electric service as scheduled or earlier. However, there may be instances when restoration extends beyond the schedule due to unavoidable circumstances.

Safety is paramount to the company and Davao Light reminds the public to always take extra precautions when passing by activity area/s where line repairs and maintenance are being done. Please heed and follow warning signs, especially in areas where personnel operate heavy equipment.
