DAVAO CITY — The Police Regional Office (PRO) XI will deploy personnel to ensure the safety of participants in the upcoming synchronized international solidarity rally on March 28, which coincides with the birthday of former president Rodrigo Duterte.

Major Catherine Dela Rey, spokesperson for the regional command, confirmed that police forces will be stationed to secure the rally. She emphasized the public’s right to express themselves and peacefully assemble. “We encourage them to police their ranks and not impede the flow of traffic, and above all, they must stay vigilant,” she stated.

Thousands of supporters are expected to join the rally in solidarity and demand Duterte’s return. The former president maintains a strong following, and rallies are also anticipated in various regions across Mindanao, reflecting his widespread support.

While Duterte’s supporters assert his innocence against the charges filed by the International Criminal Court (ICC), victims of alleged extrajudicial killings and human rights advocates are calling for justice for those killed during his administration.
