DAVAO CITY — The Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) seized three 40-footer, 45-GI high-cube container vans brought out from the Port of Manila on April 3. The vans contained allegedly misdeclared, undervalued, and misclassified goods and were considered smuggling.

The operation stemmed from a complaint lodged before the Office of the Special Envoy on Transnational Crime (OSETC)and endorsed to the CIDG for appropriate investigation.

After conducting extensive surveillance and gathering pertinent evidence, the CIDG applied for and was granted a search warrant, which enabled the authorities to conduct the raid.

The successful outcome of this operation underscores the OSETC and CIDG’s commitment to upholding the rule of law and enforcing the nation’s Customs regulations.

The misdeclaration of goods not only constitutes a violation of law but also undermines fair trade and economic stability.

Authorities continue their investigation, and appropriate legal action will be taken against those responsible.
