MANILA (September 30) — In connection with the 2020 murder of former PCSO general secretary Wesley Barayuga, a Mandaluyong court has issued a warrant of arrest for former Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO) chairperson Royina Garma and four others.

The Mandaluyong City police station obtained the warrant from Regional Trial Court Branch 279 on Monday, September 29, according to Philippine National Police spokesperson Col. Randulf Tuaño. The warrant against Garma and the others includes non-bailable charges of murder and frustrated murder.

Former National Police Commission commissioner Edilberto Leonardo, Jeremy Causapin, Santie Mendoza, and Nelson Mariano are also named in the warrant.

Justice Secretary Jesus Crispin Remulla revealed on September 8 that Garma had spoken with representatives of the International Criminal Court about testifying against former President Rodrigo Duterte, who is currently in prison. This came after her deportation from the United States following a denial of asylum.

On July 30, 2020, Barayuga was shot and killed while riding in a car in Mandaluyong City. The gunman was riding a motorcycle and has not been identified.
