DAVAO CITY (October 9) — Senior citizens here received a warm tribute and easier access to government services as the National Commission of Senior Citizens (NCSC) Regional Office 11 rolled out its “Serbisyo Caravan” for the 2025 Elderly Filipino Week.

The event, held in partnership with the City Government of Davao, Office of Senior Citizens Affairs (OSCA), and City Health Office (CHO), brought PhilHealth and YAKAP registration, National ID enrollment, OSCA ID issuance, free vaccines, and even eyeglasses directly to hundreds of seniors at a mall in Toril.

“This is about protecting and empowering our elderly,” said NCSC officer Filbert Bryan Sollesta, noting the agency’s push to make services more accessible, especially in underserved communities.

The weeklong celebration also featured wellness activities like Zumba and Walk for Life, plus an information caravan on livelihood and health programs. It will culminate with a visitation to elderly persons deprived of liberty—a gesture underscoring the inclusive spirit of the event.
