AFP’s Intel chief is new Army Commander

DAVAO CITY (October 12) — President Duterte has appointed the military’s intelligence chief Major Gen. Macairog Alberto as the next commanding general of the Philippine Army.

Alberto will replace  Lt. Gen. Rolando Bautista who is set to retire from the service on Monday,  October 15. The turn over is also set on the same day which will be attended by  President Duterte.

Alberto, a graduate of Philippine Military Academy Class of 1986.

Prior to his appointment, Alberto served as commander of the Intelligence Service of the Armed Forces of the Philippines.

Alberto once served as the commander of Task Force Davao during the time of then-Mayor and now President Rodrigo Duterte.-ezc/NewsLine.ph
