Three soldiers killed when armed men attacked a detachment in Basilan town

DAVAO CITY — Three soldiers belonging to the 18th Infantry Battalion were killed when an undetermined number of fully armed bandits attacked the military detachment at Hill 510 Barangay Magcawa in the town of Al-barka, Basilan province at around 1:30 Thursday afternoon, September 15

The fatalities were identified as Corporal Repupunio, Pfc. Pamplona and Pfc. Kapoy.

Sources said the group of unidentified armed men was led by a certain Abaas Jangkatan.

Reports revealed, the detachment is just kilometers away from from town hall of Albarka Municipality.

Al-Barka PNP, confirmed the report saying a hot pursuit operation is ongoing.
