Bislig residents evacuate to safer ground as #TDKabayan nears

DAVAO CITY — The PAGASA has announced that typhoon ‘Kabayan’ may make landfall tonight or tomorrow in Davao Oriental or Surigao del Sur.

Earlier today, Davao Oriental Governor Niño Sotero Uy has activated a Blue Alert Status by issuing Memorandum Order no. 10.

Under the Blue Alert Status, the PDRRMC Emergency Operations Center (EOC) has been activated while all the response teams of various agencies are on standby.
According to Tropical Cyclone Bulletin No. 5 issued by DOST-PAGASA at 5:00 p.m., the five municipalities of Cateel, Boston, Baganga, Manay, Caraga have been placed under Tropical Cyclone Wind Signal No.1.

While at around 9:00in the evening tonight, he local government of Bislig has evacuated the residents from Caramcam, Market Site, and Dampingan and temporarily moved to Barangay Mangagoy at the Bislig City Gymnasium, Bislig Surigao del Sur.

The entire province of Davao de Oro has gone up to Signal #1 due to the Tropical Depression (TD) or Bagyong Kabayan.
In the last update of PAGASA, the typhoon is 395 km away from Davao City.

The government has once again warned us to always be careful and be aware of the environment around us.
In the affected areas, prepare the emergency bag, lights, flashlight, first aid kit and if there are small children – don’t forget the milk and clothes
