BREAKING! Hail storm hits Makilala, evacuation tents collapse

MAKILALA, North Cotabato —- A hail storm hit this quake devastated town following sudden heavy downpour with strong winds late Monday afternoon, November 11.

The strong winds blew some of the tents built in evacuation centers for families affected the series of earthquakes.

North Cotabato Vice Gov. Shirlyn Macasarte said the affected evacuation centers are those in Barangay Poblacion Elementary School, Saguing Elementary School, Mindanao Institute of Science and Technology compound and Santos Lands evacuation site.

“We are preparing to relocate our evacuees affected by the (hail) storm,” Macasarte said.

The sudden downpour which lasted for only about 15 minutes toppled down trees beside the highway in Barangays Saging and Malasila.
