Broadcaster shot dead in Sultan Sudarat

DAVAO CITY –— A block time radio anchorman was shot dead at around 10:00 this morning in Tacurong City, province of Sultan Kudarat, while he was at the car wash area to attend to his vehicle..

Police identified the victim as Jaynards Angeles, 38 years old. He was an anchorman of Radyo Ni Juan in Tacurong City, he used to be the station commander.

Angeles was seeking council seat in the municipality of Lambayong, Sultan Kudarat.

He anchored a program dubbed as “Tinig ng Bayan”.

Angeles is the second broadcaster of Radyo ni Juan network in tacurong City killed during the last two years.

On October 30, 2019, its station manager Benjie Caballero was killed by motorcycle-riding assailants outside of his home in Tacutong.

Police are still investigating the motive of the killing.
