Red Cross continues to help typhoon Odette victims

DAVAO CITY — The International Committee of the Red Cross has continuously support hundreds of families affected by Typhoon #OdettePH in Siargao island.

In a press sattement, the ICRC shared that the families affected will receive urgently needed food, drinking water and household items throughout this week.

It added ” We supported our primary humanitarian partner, the Philippine Red Cross, in their TY Odette relief efforts in Surigao del Norte and Dinagat Islands by providing them with:✅ Food rations with 25 kg rice, condiments, cooking oil and sardines✅ Purified water bottles (10 liter, 6.6. liter or 6 liter)✅ Essential household items (jerry cans, blankets, mats, mosquito nets, tarpaulins)✅ Kitchen sets.

In the coming days, more typhoon-affected families are expected to receive relief items from the Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement.The ICRC is also supporting PRC’s effort to re-establish and/or maintain contact with the families separated by TY Odette.

The ICRC added “We will continue to coordinate closely with the PRC and our RCRC Movement partners, as well as other humanitarian agencies, to ensure that the Red Cross are able to reach those most in need.”

Thousands of families in Mindanao have been affected by the typhoon and until now, they need assistance.
