MANOLO FORTICH, BUKIDNON – Over the course of five days, the Barangay Health Emergency Response Team in Manolo Fortich, Bukidnon, underwent comprehensive training in basic life support and standard first aid. The initiative, spearheaded by the local government, aimed to enhance the team’s ability to respond effectively to health emergencies within the community.
The training program, which commenced on Monday, September 25, and concluded on September 29, was conducted at the Technical Skills and Development Center.
The Barangay Health Emergency Response Team comprises doctors, nurses, midwives, and health personnel assigned to the Municipal Health Office. They participated in a two-day basic life support training, which covered essential life-saving skills such as responding to sudden cardiac arrest, heart attacks, strokes, and performing cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR), among other critical procedures.
Following this, a three-day standard first aid training was conducted, focusing on the proper use of medical supplies such as plasters, sterile gauze dressings, triangular bandages, safety pins, disposable sterile gloves, tweezers, and more.
This training equips the response team with the knowledge and skills necessary to provide immediate assistance during medical emergencies, ensuring a higher level of safety and well-being within the community.
The Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office organized and facilitated the training sessions, further enhancing the readiness of the Barangay Health Emergency Response Team to serve the residents of Manolo Fortich effectively.
