Bus carrying frontliners set to fire, 3 passengers perished

DAVAO CITY — A bus carrying frontliners was set to fire along the national highway in Barangay Bialong, Mlang , North Cotabato at about 4:40 Thursday afternoon, June 3,

Three passengers were charred beyond recognition.

Bernardo Tayong, Mlang’s disaster risk reduction and management officer, said they are still identifying the victims.

In an interview Tayong revealed the passengers were trapped while four others were immediately brought to the hospital.

The bus, bearing body number body number A-104, is owned by Yellow Bus Lines (YBL), was traveling from Kidapawan City to Mlang en route to Tacurong City in Sultan Kudarat province when one of the passengers allegedly poured gasoline at the rear portion of the vehicle and set it on fire.
