DAVAO CITY — The three-day massive surveillance swabbing at various offices housed inside the Sangguniang Panglungsod here yielded 44 personnel getting infected for the Sars-CoV-2.
The City Health Office (CHO) held the test from from May 29 to 31.
The 44 were among the 1,083 employees swabbed for Sars-CoV-2, the virus that causes the coronavirus disease, as part of the active surveillance swabbing of the city government.
In an interview with Davao City government-owned radio station dcDR , acting City Health Officer Dr. Ashley Lopez revealed, “We have completed the swabbing at the Sangguniang Panlungsod. During Friday, Saturday, and Sunday swabbing, we were able to swab a total of 1,083 employees and out of those 1,083, 44 came out positive”.
Most of those tested positive are employees occupying various offices at the ground floor namely: City Assessor’s Office, City Treasurer’s Office, and the City Civil Registrar’s Office.
Most of the 44 are from City Assessor’s office while four (4) from City Treasurer’s Office, he said,
Lopez added that the 44 employees have been isolated and that his office will conduct disinfection inside the SP Building offices.
Starting Monday, May 31, the SP Building had been placed on a seven-day lockdown due to the alarming rise of Covid-19 cases among city government employees.
Meanwhile, while the SP Building is under lockdown, all of the facility’s office services are handled through their district offices.
