Businessman killed inside his farm

DAVAO DEL NORTE —A business was killed inside his farm in New Corella town, Davao Del Norte, on Sunday, August 29, 2021.

New Corella Municipal Police Station identified the victim as Antonio Ramos Fabian, 63 years old, owner of Fabian Farm in Area 23, Barangay Mesaoy.

Initial police investigation showed that the victim was with his live-in partner of victim Ivy Ruiz Morales, 32 years old, and their 5-year-old child when the suspects entered their farm past 11:00 in the evening.

The child told the police investigators that he saw two unidentified armed men entering the door and shot the victim multiple times, Ivy and her child were able to hide.

The victim was still brought to the Municipal Health Office but was declared dead on arrival by Dr. Nancy Obra-Cacayorin.

The Scene of the Crime Operatives (SOCO) team recovered five pistols in the area where the victim was killed.

Police authorities are eyeing personal grudge as one of the motives since the victim had problems with the landowner over unpaid obligation.-Paul Palacio
