CDO opens new ‘OKK’ center for emergency services

CAGAYAN DE ORO – The inauguration of the state-of-the-art Operation Kahusay og Kalinaw (OKK) Center marked a significant step towards enhancing emergency response capabilities in the city. Mayor Roland Klarex Uy led the blessing ceremony for the new facility on the morning of August 25.

Located at Magsaysay Park in Divisoria, the OKK Center stands as a beacon of modernity. Equipped with closed-circuit television (CCTV) cameras and housing various essential offices, the center is poised to provide efficient assistance during times of crisis.

Mayor Uy highlighted that the establishment of the OKK Building is aimed at swiftly aiding individuals seeking assistance, particularly in times of dire need. The coordinated efforts within the OKK Building involve key city departments such as the Cagayan de Oro City Police, City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Department (CDRRMD), Roads and Traffic Administration, City Social Welfare and Development Department, and Bureau of Fire Protection.

This facility showcases the city’s commitment to ensuring the safety and well-being of its citizens. The OKK Center’s cutting-edge technology and consolidated services emphasize the city’s preparedness in handling various emergencies, ranging from accidents to natural calamities.
