Coast Guard rescue two fisherfolks from boat on fire

DAVAO CITY —- Personnel of the Philippine Coast Guard stationed in Davao Occidental on Thursday rescued two fishermen after their motorized banca flamed at the water of Jose Abad Santos, Davao Occidental.

A concerned citizen reported to the Coast Guard sub-station in Jose Abad Santos that a motorized boat was on fire in the waters of Barangay Salabayon,

The coast guard immediately conducted a search and rescue operation onboard Aluminum Boat 233 successfully rescued the passengers of Mbca D-Krisvyn and towed the motorized boat to the shores of Barangay Balangonan, of the same town.

The boat operator told the coast guard they were on their way home to Balut Island to Brgy Balangonan when they encountered engine trouble and the fire ensued.
