Customs uncovers HongKong bound package with P2.3M Cocaine

DAVAO CITY — A shipment bound for Hongkong  containing 445 grams of Cocaine worth P2.385-million was intercepted by  Bureau of Customs’ (BOC)  at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport yesterday June 15, 2022.

The shipment declared as motorcycle muffler, brakepads and radiator was  discovered during the inspection conducted by the BOC, together with Philippine Drug Enforcement agency (PDEA) and NAIA Drug Interdiction Task Group (NAIA-DITG)  .

Authorities are now investigating personalities involved in the illegal trade which is a violation of RA 9165 or the Comprehensive Drug Act and RA 10863 also known as the Customs Modernization And Tariff Act (CMTA).

In their statement BOC-NAIA and PDEA assured that the NAIA-DITG will remain vigilant in preventing the entry and transhipment  of illegal drugs in  NAIA.
