Customs uncovers P2.19-B worth of ‘shabu’

DAVAO CITY — Personnel from the Bureau of Customs uncovers 323 kilos or P2.19 billion worth of ‘shabu’ at the Manila port early this week.

The agency in a press statement said the illegal drugs shipped from Mexico reached Manila Port in early January this year, was declared beef.

But authorities suspects the concealed cargo which led them to check the goods through their x-ray machines, it turned out that the container contained illegal drugs.

The BOC is still locating the consignee of the illegal drugs and vowed to file charges against them.
