Davao City lifts RT-PCR test requirement for Davao-bound travelers

DAVAO CITY —- The city government of Davao will no longer require Reverse Transcription Polymerase Chain reactions (RT-PCR) result requirement for travelers entering Davao City via Land, sea and air starting 12:01 in the morning of November 16, 2021.

Mayor Sara Duterte-Carpio in an interview with the city-owned DCDR Radio on Monday afternoon said based on Executive Order No. 66 Series of 2021, which she issued on Monday, the city lift the RT-PPCR test requirement..

The lifting of swab test is an offshoot of the continuing downtrend of Covid-19 cases in the city.

“As it is now, we only have one hospital for Covid-19 patients,” Duterte-Carpio added.

She also pointed out “Zero ang atong cadaver sa Covid-19 at SPMC (Southern Philippines Medical Center), she added.

“All DavaoeƱos, the 1.8-million did this, we are united against covid-19, and all of us win in the fight against covid-19,” she said, but she ” The fight is not yet over, everyone needs to follow minimum health protocol, stay away from mass gatherings and enclosed areas and everyone must get vaccinated.’

The EO Number 66 Series of 2021 states:

LAND AND DOMESTIC SEA AND AIR TRAVEL. All travelers entering Davao City by land and all arriving domestic travelers by sea and air shall no longer be required to present their 24-72 hours negative RT-PCR test results. No document shall be required for entry into Davao City, except for security checks that may be required by the AFP and PNP personnel, for the purposes of anti-crime, anti- illegal drugs, and anti-terrorism operations.

INTERNATIONAL AIR TRAVEL. All passengers by international air travel arriving in Davao City, including those international passengers arriving through connecting domestic flights, shall comply with the requirements and guidelines provided by the Inter-Agency Task Force for the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases (IATF-MEID).
