Davao cops cite continued results of Oplan Kalinaw

DAVAO CITY
 — The Davao City Police Office (DCPO) said it continues to gain positive results in its simultaneous anti-criminality and terrorism operations under Oplan Kalinaw.

This, as 25 individuals wanted by law were arrested by authorities during an Oplan Kalinaw operation conducted in different areas of the city on Thursday.

Col. Alexander Tagum, DCPO chief, said the simultaneous operations around the city resulted in identity or background checking and profiling of 990 residents.

Of the figure, 25 persons were arrested by virtue of warrants of arrest for various serious criminal cases, including violence against women and children, gambling, illegal drugs, illegal cutting of trees, malicious mischief, violation of the regulation on trust receipts transactions, acts of lasciviousness, and homicide.

During the Oplan Kalinaw operations, Tagum said a total of 540 residents availed of the free medical check-up, supplemental food feeding, and 318 persons received free medicines and vitamins.

Oplan Kalinaw is a “four-in-one package” designed to initiate identity or background checks and profiling of transient residents; manhunt operations against wanted persons; community outreach, including free medical check-up and distribution of medicines and vitamins; and crime prevention education.

Oplan Kalinaw is a collaboration among the DCPO, Task Force Davao, the military, and other law enforcement agencies.-PNA
