
DAVAO CITY (July 25) — Davao Light and Power Co., Inc. has announced a series of scheduled switching power interruptions in various parts of Davao City from July 27 to 29, 2025. These interruptions are necessary to facilitate maintenance works on substations and power lines to ensure continued service reliability.
July 27–28: Tibungco and Malagamot Areas
The first set of power interruptions will take place on Sunday, July 27, to allow substation work at the Tibungco Substation and line maintenance in Tibungco and Malagamot. To minimize prolonged outages, loads from affected lines will be temporarily transferred to nearby substations. This will result in a 45-minute interruption anytime between 1:00 a.m. and 3:00 a.m.
The normalization or return of these loads to their original setup will occur on Monday, July 28, within the same 1:00 a.m. to 3:00 a.m. window.
Areas affected:
- Portions of Mamay Road, from Roseville Subdivision to Cabantian and up to Indangan Barangay Hall
- Camp Catitipan, Malagamot, Panacan, and F. Bangoy International Airport
- Entire Panacan and Tibungco
- Parts of Bunawan, up to Daniel Perez Central Elementary School
July 29: Ponciano Reyes Substation Areas
A separate switching interruption is scheduled on Tuesday, July 29, for substation works at the Ponciano Reyes Substation. The 45-minute outage is expected to occur anytime between 1:00 a.m. and 2:30 a.m.
Areas affected:
- Buhangin: From Camella Northpoint to Orange Grove Hotel, including J.P. Laurel Avenue, Bacaca Road, and Diversion Road up to Jade Valley
- Parts of Mabini Street to Circumferential Road, including Magallanes Street, Bacaca Road, Central Bank, Davao Doctors Hospital, Limso Hospital, Brokenshire Hospital, and DMSF
- Obrero area: Lacson, Cervantes, Nicacio Torres, Nidea, Sobrecarey, and parts of Loyola Street up to Central Convenience Store
- San Pedro Hospital and nearby areas
- F. Torres Street to Nissan Bajada, including E. Jacinto Extension, Mabini Street, and parts of Marfori, Maa Bypass Road, and Riverview Road
Davao Light advises all affected customers to take necessary precautions and prepare for the brief service interruptions. The company assures the public that the maintenance activities are part of ongoing efforts to improve power delivery and minimize unplanned outages.
