Zero incidents reported during Duterte solidarity rally-Marantan

DAVAO CITY—The Davao City Police Office (DCPO) reported zero incidents during the solidarity rally on March 28, 2025. Thousands of people gathered to celebrate former President Rodrigo Duterte’s 80th birthday.

The city police expressed their gratitude in a statement, saying, “On behalf of the Davao City Police Office (DCPO), I extend my heartfelt congratulations to the entire Security and Safety Cluster, our dedicated law enforcement personnel, and all agencies involved in ensuring the success of FPRRD @80: A Global Tribute to the Life and Legacy of Former President Rodrigo Roa Duterte. Your unwavering commitment and professionalism have again demonstrated our city’s capacity to uphold peace, order, and security.”

DCPO Director, Police Colonel Hansel Marantan, praised the peaceful and orderly nature of the rally, stating, “The conduct of this significant event, with zero recorded incidents, is a testament to the strong collaboration between the people and security forces. The vigilance and cooperation of our fellow Davaoeños and visitors played a crucial role in maintaining a safe environment for all.”

He urged Davaoeños to continue being models of discipline and security: “Let us remain watchful and proactive. Safety is a shared responsibility, and our collective efforts in fostering a culture of alertness, respect, and cooperation will ensure that our city remains peaceful and secure.”

The city police also thanked everyone who participated in the successful event on March 28.
