DAVAO CITY — The Commission on Elections in Davao Region (Comelec-11) reported on Monday that it has processed a total of 343,239 voter applications from February 12 to September 7.

These applications include new registrations, transfers, corrections, and reactivations, according to Comelec-11 Assistant Director Gay Enumerables.

The breakdown of applications is as follows: Davao City recorded 107,382, Davao del Norte 77,544, Davao de Oro 56,740, Davao Oriental 53,238, Davao del Sur 30,493, and Davao Occidental 17,842.

“Our election officers have made significant efforts to reach remote areas, setting up satellite registration sites in various barangays, particularly in Davao City,” Enumerables said. “Provincial offices have also undertaken similar initiatives to ensure coverage across all barangays in the region.”

Enumerables noted that Comelec-11’s participation in registration caravans has been crucial in achieving a high turnout. “Barangay satellite offices collaborated with our election officers, using spaces like gymnasiums to facilitate the registration process,” she added.

Residents are encouraged to visit satellite stations or Comelec offices to complete their registration before the September 30 deadline. Applicants should bring completed forms and a valid government-issued ID to their registration sites.-with a report from Che Palicte/PNA
