DAVAO CITY  (September 26) — A policeman,  father of a defeated taekwondo contestant threatened a teacher at gunpoint over his son’s misfortune, is now under restrictive custody.

Police XI regional director Chief Supt. Marcelo Morales immediately ordered that  SPO1 Inocentes Talleon be placed under restrictive custody.

“I will not tolerate the wrongdoings or misbehavior of my policemen towards the public,” Morales said.

Talleon,  who is presently assigned at  Davao Oriental Provincial Mobile Force Company (DOPMFC), was reportedly under the influence of liquor when he confronted Lupon, Davao Oriental  Elementary School Teacher Eva Garcia Carbo, over his son’s loss in the taekwondo competition last Friday, September 21.

Police report showed allegedly Talleon confronted Carbo about his son’s defeat at the premises of Banaybanay Elementary School at about  3:50 p.m. Carbo,  was the coach of Talleon’s son.

Chief Inspector Milgrace Driz, Police Regional Office (PRO) XI spokesperson said, Talleon could face criminal and administrative charges for his actions.

Marites, who  witnessed the incident said “Parang hindi talaga matanggap ng pulis na natalo ang anak nya, Nakita na lang namin sya na may hawak ng long arm tapos pinagalitan ang titser, as in tinutukan talaga ng baril. lahat nagsitakbuhan.”

According to Driz,  the teacher tried to explain the circumstances but Talleon refused to listen.  He left the Carbo and went back with his M16 rifle, causing panic and alarm among the students, athletes, facilitators and the audience.

The commotion prompted the school supervisor to call the nearby Banaybanay police for assistance.  Parents who attended the competition claimed Talleon was drunk and was showing conduct unbecoming of a public servant.

“He was really mad, he was drunk, I guess PNP should check on this kind of personnel, where is change?’ a barangay official of Banaybanay told Newsline. -Editha Z. Caduaya/NewsLine.ph
