Department of Agriculture provides native goats to farmers in Cotabato

COTABATO PROVINCE – In collaboration with the Office of the Provincial Agriculturist and the Department of Agriculture Special Area for Agricultural Development, farmers in the cities of Midsayap and Alamada, Cotabato Province, have received native goats as a means of support.

A total of 79 upgraded native goats, worth 520,000 pesos, were distributed to qualified beneficiaries. This initiative aims to increase farmers’ income and improve their quality of life.

Recipients were educated on proper animal care and management practices to prevent common illnesses that could affect their livestock.

Twenty-nine beneficiaries from Alamada, consisting of ten members from the Rural Improvement Club in Barangay Poloyagan and ten members from the Rural Improvement Club in Pigcawayan, along with nine beneficiaries from Malipayan’s Rural Improvement Club, received native goats.

An additional 50 beneficiaries from Midsayap were also given native goats as part of the program.
